The Big Debate Area
This was a chance to have your say with topics including; The benefits and opportunities arising from shifting to a lower carbon economy; Brighton & Hove city regions plans to develop a ‘super-fused’ economy using the City Deal, building on the creative, digital & environmental technology sectors, Innovations in building and transport and how they fit with the Circular Economy? Our Energy Future: Fracking or renewables, and the future opportunities for community energy.
Domestic & Non Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) Series of Talks by The Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC)
This spring saw the launch of the new Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), a Government financial incentive scheme that provides payments to encourage the installation of renewable heating technologies in homes. To help people understand the benefits of the scheme, The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) conducted a series of talks at the show to inform people about the potential benefits of renewable heat and the RHI. With changes to the non-domestic RHI scheme, visitors could attend the DECC seminar area to access the very latest information about both schemes.
The Communication Hub
We ran face to face networking sessions at the Show in the Communications Hub covering our 6 Show themes plus that of Community Energy.
Each hosted networking session lasted for up to 1 hour in the Communications Hub next to the Big Debate area on the exhibition floor.
Visitors turned up a few minutes before, dropped off their business card and filled in a badge and joined fellow professionals to discuss the opportunities and challenges in their sector.
The communications hub was also available outside of the facilitated networking times for private meetings, information and leaflets from Show exhibitors were available.

Transport Zone
An entire floor of the latest electric and low-emission vehicles included BMW’s electric i3 and i8 hybrid supercar, Mitsubishi’s Outlander - the world’s first plug-in SUV, the ground-breaking Tesla Model S and Roadster, Vauxhall’s Ampera, plus a range of electric bikes. Fleetdrive Electric launched a new Smart EV app for mobile devices, designed for EV drivers to find the nearest charging points along a route.
The Landlord Investment Show
In its second year, co-located with the Eco Technology Show, and focused on connecting Landlords, Investors, Developers & Property Professionals with industry leaders and suppliers who could help with all aspects of buy-to-let. Over 50+ exhibitors and 14 seminars illustrated what extensive investment opportunities are available in Brighton and also in other parts of Sussex.
Exhibitors included: Legal Services, Development Opportunities, Buy-to-let mortgages, Landlord Insurance, Referencing, Letting Agents, Online Agents, Property Management, Local Council, Tenancy Deposit Scheme, Landlord Tax Advice, Landlord Associations, Buy to let opportunities and Local Tradesman. The Landlord Investment Show Team also held a Gala Dinner on the 26th June. This was held at the Hilton Metropole Brighton from 7pm - 12.30am. Up to 200 guests attended this unique event which brought together Landlords, Investors, Developers and Property Professionals for a night of celebration that highlighted the success of the Buy-To-Let industry within Sussex.
This was a key opportunity to network with Industry Experts, Directors, Landlords and Developers within the Private Rented Sector and was a great chance to make key contacts in a relaxed and fun environment.
Guest speakers on the evening included: Clive Emson (Clive Emson Land and Property Auctioneers), Anji Mariani (Latest Homes/Latest TV), Mike Stimpson (Southern Landlords Association)
