Funding For Business: £10 Million for Low-Carbon Ideas
SME’s can now bid for a slice of £10 million if their solutions or low carbon energy ideas can help bring down the cost of business or home energy bills.
The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) released the third tranche of funding under the £35 million Energy Entrepreneur Fund, this week, saying it would increase the UK’s efforts in reaching its carbon targets and help support jobs and create export opportunities.
"Innovation is vital for the move towards a low carbon economy and an essential part of our long term economic plan. I look forward to seeing our great entrepreneurs rising to the challenge," said Energy and Climate Change Minister, Greg Barker.
Successful applicants are eligible for up to £2 million under the scheme. Advice from commercial experts on attracting investments and bringing products to market will be given in addition to the monetary sponsorship.
Although the fund is aimed primarily at SMEs, any size company from the private sector is eligible to apply.
